What is Dig-Study
Created by Professor Yang Da of Waseda University Dig-Study is an innovative language learning system designed to accelerate proficiency through scientifically grounded methods. By leveraging human memory mechanisms, it helps learners rapidly develop listening, speaking, and comprehension skills in multiple languages.
Dig-Study has been widely adopted by universities, high schools, and companies, delivering measurable improvements in language learning outcomes.
The Effectiveness of Dig-Study
English Proficiency Test (Eiken)
• Before Dig-Study: Only 20% of first-year high school students passed Grade Pre-2.
• After Dig-Study: Within 10 months, over 80% of students passed.
• University Advancement: Students progressing to top universities (Waseda, Keio, Sophia, G- MARCH) increased from 8 to 45.
• Average deviation score rose by more than 5 points.
Chinese Language Learning
• Traditional requirement: About 200 hours needed to pass Level 4 of the Chinese Proficiency Test.
• With Dig-Study: Students reached Level 4 proficiency in just 65 hours.
• Pass rate improvement: From 10% after one year of study to 86% within two months of introduction.
• Dig-Study classes scored on average 50 points higher than classes relying only on face-to- face lessons.
• Adopted by prestigious institutions such as Waseda University and Rikkyo University.
How Dig-Study Works, The Dig-Study system is based on the human memory mechanisms. In a short period of time, it helps learners form strong auditory imagery, enabling listening and speaking skills to develop naturally. This leads to rapid improvement in both comprehension and communication, making language acquisition faster and more effective than ever before.
■ Dig-Study System – Learning Concept
The Dig-Study system is built on the principle of “i+1”—adding just the right amount of new knowledge to a learner’s current level of understanding.

■ Learners progress step by step, like climbing stairs, mastering vocabulary and example sentences through seven structured drills:

★ By following this sequence, learners steadily build vocabulary, grammar, and sentence patterns, reinforcing memory and comprehension at each stage.
